Contributing to the community
SpecialsNear.Me is powered by its community. Every photo you upload, every special you suggest, and every correction you submit makes the app more useful for everyone nearby.
Uploading photos
Photos help other users know what to expect before they walk through the door.
On a special's listing page
- Scroll to the Community Photos section.
- Click Upload a Photo.
- Choose an image from your device and submit.
On a business profile page
- Scroll to the Community Photos section.
- Click Upload a Photo.
- Select a category for your photo:
- General — anything that doesn't fit another category
- Food — dishes, drinks, menu items
- Exterior — the outside of the building, signage, parking
- Interior — the inside atmosphere, seating, decor
- Menu — photos of the physical or posted menu
- Choose your image and submit.
Verifying your visit
Uploading a receipt is the best way to prove you visited a business. Verified visits earn you extra contribution points and signal to the community that your reviews and suggestions come from real experience.
To verify a visit, go to the business's profile page and look for the Verify Your Visit card. Upload a photo of your receipt and submit.
Suggesting a new special
Know about a deal that isn't listed? Help the community by submitting it.
- Go to the business's profile page.
- Click Suggest a Special.
- Fill in the details — title, description, schedule, tags, and any dollar-off value.
- Submit the suggestion.
Your suggestion is sent to the business owner or an admin for review. If approved it will appear on the business's profile and show up on the map.
Suggesting a business edit
If a business's hours, phone number, website, or other info is out of date, you can propose a correction.
- Go to the business's profile page.
- Click Suggest an Edit.
- Choose what you want to correct (hours, phone, website, menu, etc.) and enter the accurate information.
- Submit.
Other community members can upvote your suggestion. Business owners can also review and accept or reject suggestions directly.

Content guidelines
Keep contributions accurate and respectful:
- Photos — show the business, food, drinks, or atmosphere. No screenshots, copied logos, or unrelated images.
- Suggested specials — include only real, current deals. Don't exaggerate discounts.
- Suggested edits — only submit information you have direct knowledge of. Don't guess.
- Comments — be helpful and constructive. Abusive or off-topic comments may be removed.
Contributions that violate these guidelines will be declined and repeated violations may result in account restrictions.
