Your profile
Your profile is your personal hub inside SpecialsNear.Me. It shows everything you've saved, your social connections, your notification feed, and how your account is set up.
Contribution levels
Every action you take that helps the community earns you contribution points. As your points grow, you move through ranks:

Actions that earn points include uploading photos, suggesting specials, submitting business edits, and verifying visits with receipts.
Saved items
- Followed Businesses— every business you've hearted, with a link directly to their profile.
- I'm Going— all the events you've committed to attending, sorted by date.
- I'm Interested— your saved specials wishlist. Things you've bookmarked but haven't committed to yet.
Friends & social
The Friends panel on your profile lets you search for users to add, view your active friends list, manage pending requests, and remove existing friends. See the Social Features guide for a full walkthrough.
Notifications
The Notifications panel shows your unread and recent activity. See the Social Features guide for details on what kinds of notifications you'll receive.

Sign-in methods
The Authentication Connections section shows how you can sign into your account — email & password and/or Google. You can have both linked at the same time as a backup.
- Setting a password for the first time — if you signed up with Google and want to add a password, click Set Password and enter a new one.
- Unlinking a sign-in method — you can remove a method as long as at least one other remains active. The app prevents you from removing your only way in.
Frequently asked questions
Can I change my display name or email?
Display name and email updates are not currently self-service. Support tools are coming soon.
How do I delete my account?
Self-service account deletion is coming soon. Until then, this is handled manually.
Why is my contribution level not updating?
Points are calculated periodically. If you just completed an action, give it a few minutes and refresh your profile.
