RSVPs and your Specials Calendar
Keep track of what you want to attend and never miss a local special again. SpecialsNear.Me gives you two ways to save events and a personal calendar to manage them all.
"I'm Going" vs. "I'm Interested"
On any special's listing page you'll see two action buttons in the attendance carousel:
| Button | What it means |
|---|---|
| I'm Going | You plan to attend. The event is added to your calendar with a date, and you appear in the attendance count. Friends can see you're going. |
| I'm Interested | You're thinking about it. The special is saved to your profile for reference but doesn't commit you to a date. |
You can change or remove either status at any time from the listing page or your profile.
Recurring specials
Some specials repeat on a schedule — for example, “Every Friday, 5 PM – 7 PM.” When you click I'm Going on a recurring special, the app asks you to pick which occurrence(s) you plan to attend. You can select one date or multiple upcoming dates.
If you've marked yourself as going to a recurring special, the app will periodically send you a reconfirmation prompt to check whether you still plan to attend the next occurrence. This keeps attendance counts accurate for everyone.
Your Specials Calendar
Open the Specials Calendar from the navigation bar to see everything in one place.
The calendar is split into two sections:
- I'm Going— a chronological list of every event you've committed to, showing the date, the special's title, the business name, and a link to the full listing.
- I'm Interested— everything you've bookmarked, without a specific date. Use this as a wishlist of specials to check on later.
Exporting to an external calendar
Your Specials Calendar can sync with any app that supports the iCalendar format, including:
- Google Calendar
- Apple Calendar
- Outlook
Each event you mark as “Going” generates a calendar entry you can export. Look for the Add to Calendar button on individual listing pages or the export option in your Specials Calendar to get your personal calendar feed link.
Notifications for upcoming events
When an event you've RSVPed to is approaching, you'll receive a reminder notification. View and manage all notifications from your Profile page.
